What the Moon Reveals

Favorite track: Moss Dappled Path.

Richard Gürtler "What The Moon Reveals" is another strong album by Robert Davies, it doesn't reach the expansive intensity of "Arboreal" for example, but this wasn't the sculptor's intention. As usual for this soundscaper, the strength of this album lies in his constant ability to punctiliously amalgamate utterly embracing, at times deeply mindscaping and stirringly dissonant drone escapades with carefully selected and polished on-site recordings. All the time loaded with euphoniously rewarding subtleties!!!

Duff Egan Robert Davies on Bandcamp? I already own everything on CD but such an important artist to me that I'm happy to support on BC as well. He is one of the masters of the craft, contemporary and otherwise. The soulful and genuine nature-jazz sound is truly unique and a pleasure to listen to. Like this record? Try out Alchemy of Nature, particularly track 02. You're welcome. Please release more back catalog on BC!

Over the years Robert Davies has created a considerable reputation for his work in the realm of lush and dreamy pastoral ambient. Music that transports the listener to various aspects of an idyllic natural world, and sometimes to the supernatural. A music that tends towards the deeply immersive and refreshingly relaxing. On What The Moon Reveals, Davies continues this journey, painting hypnotic sonic portraits of intimate evening landscapes, and creating a series of memorable ambient reveries. It is a tour de force of sustained ambient artistry.
