It slowly takes gradual twists and turns, then suddenly fades. “Atonement” begins beautifully, with a delicate flute hanging in the mist of ambient textures. The melancholic tone continues and I’m reminded, emotionally speaking, of sadder works by Schulze, though compositionally it is perhaps a distant cousin. Like Schulze, this is heady stuff, having a serious feel that isn’t always present in synthesizer music...."

Oh mán, what an awesome release!! Well, it has to be for me, if I purchase an album that is only available as a download-version instead of CD/vinyl.. I always want to support the artist, but I just can’t help being hooked/addicted/product of my childhood, whatever you want to call it, to a physical album.. But albums like these..!, this is art, made with passion, majestic, and has all ingredients that I love about ambient/drone-music.. absolute MUST-HAVE!

A very different side of APK, the maestro behind the phenomenal Nunc Stans, The Circular Ruins & The Winterhouse. To me it’s a different blend with a more ‘emotional’ layer, and other textures and even some guitar I think, something I hear for the first time in his work. A really stunningly beautiful work that gives me comfort during an emotional time in my life, lots of things going on (sept. ‘20) Normally I have to search for comfort-music, now it just pops up from out of nowhere.
